Plenary Session – Intro to Social Justice

Learn how to promote racial and social justice, increase cultural awareness, and create a more inclusive environment for your local, district, and community.

The goal is to bridge cultural divides and make our locals, schools, and communities more welcoming for people of all abilities and backgrounds, by helping participants see beyond their own personal world view.

3rd Year Locals – Issue Advocacy

With countless issues surrounding our locals on a daily basis, how do we decide which issues to take on as an Association?  This workshop will focus on issue identification, and a process to “move the needle” on issues that matter to our members and the communities in which they serve.

This presentation will feature a panel of community advocates who have partnered with our local associations followed by team discussion.  The panel will include speakers/practitioners on the following topics: Community schools, Racial Equity, faith-based organizations, parent-teacher organizations and environmental groups.
